Mr. J. Sethuraman

The Chairman of KNCCI Agriculture committee

His Career achievements includes Managing Director in MPM Travel XS Private Limited, having offices at Mamallapuram (Head Office started in 2000), Chennai (Branch started in 2003), Cochin (Branch started in 2005). He received the Life Time Achiever Award from Loyola College-2008. Mr Sethuraman is an active member in Lions Club from 1992 and has contributed towards the field of Education and Children Health Mr. Sethuraman also runs a centre for differently abled children at Thirukkalukundram where he is supporting 20 plus differently abled children by the way of providing them with food, quality education and medical assistance.

 The centre have plans to support more children in the coming days. Through MPM Travel XS Private Limited he is doing the Fishing Safari at Mamallapuram to help Fishermen Community, Bi-Cycle Tours to Kadambadi Village near Mamallapuram to promote Village peoples’ life and Cycle Rickshaw Tour at Madurai. He is currently the Managing Director of MPM Travel XS Private Limited at Mamallapuram. He completed his B. Com at the Loyola College in Chennai.

Background

Agriculture is a key sector of the Indian economy, the output of which can significantly impact the socio-economic condition of the population. With the use of traditional practices and dependent on nature for irrigation being widely common, instances of output getting affected are common. Focus on mitigation or elimination as far as possible across all agricultural activities is necessary for having the desired outcome from the sector

The objectives and goals of the Agriculture committee

  1. “Farm to plate” concept in an all-weather seamless manner will be the primary objective of KNCCI in promoting agricultural initiatives.
  2. Centre of excellence with a focus on each stakeholder group starting with farmers from an engagement perspective and option to interact among all groups will be promoted to ensure best practices are learnt and implemented seamlessly
  3. Exchange of stakeholder groups between Japan and Tamil Nadu to learn first-hand best practices would be undertaken with a focus on real-time implementation
